When I'm not being a pickle snob, you can find me curled up with a good book, spending quality time with my loved ones, or introverting at home (because, let's be real, extroverting at work can be exhausting!). I'm a mountain lover at heart and find solace in watching nature's beauty unfold. But what really gets me going is my work! As a versatile and dedicated professional, I've adopted an "I can do it" approach, continually seeking knowledge and skills to enhance my ability to help and serve others. Creativity is at the heart of my work, and I thrive on designing engaging invitations, calendars, schedules, parties, and crafts that bring joy to those around me. My passion for gerontology and supporting seniors stems from my academic background and extensive research in aging, dementia, and geriatrics. Through volunteering and advocacy, I've dedicated myself to improving the lives of seniors. Working with seniors is not just a job – it's my calling. I'm driven by the desire to provide purposeful activities that reawaken fond memories, challenge their minds, and prove that age is just a number. Witnessing seniors rediscover their spark and enthusiasm is the greatest reward I could ask for. So, that's me in a nutshell (or a pickle jar, haha!). What about you? What are your passions, interests, and favorite things? Let's get this conversation started! December 2019 marked a pivotal moment in my life. After months of uncertainty and self-doubt, I received a diagnosis that would change everything: Chiari Malformation. For so long, I felt like I was losing my grip on reality. Unexplained symptoms, unrelenting pain, and a nagging sense of "something's not right" had become my norm. I began to wonder if I was just imagining things, if I was somehow "crazy." But then came the diagnosis, and with it, a sense of validation and hope. Suddenly, the strange symptoms and feelings made sense. I wasn't crazy; I was sick. And with that knowledge came the possibility of treatment, of relief, of a new chapter. It's been a journey, to say the least. But I'm grateful for that diagnosis, as life-changing as it's been. It's taught me to advocate for myself, to trust my instincts, and to never give up hope. #ChiariMalformation #LifeChangingDiagnosis #Validation #Hope #Resilience #PickleSnob #BookLover #FamilyFirst #IntrovertExtrovert #MountainLove #NatureEnthusiast #Gerontology #SeniorAdvocate #CreativityMatters #dementiacare #seniorcare #lifeguard #lifeenrichmentdirector #lifeenrichment
